LOTTOMATICA GROUP SUBSIDIARY GTECH FOREIGN HOLDINGS CORPORATION SIGNS MULTI-YEAR CONTRACTS WITH CONCESIONARIA DE ENTRETENIMIENTOS Y TURISMO TO SUPPLY AND OPERATE INTELLIGEN™ CENTRAL SYSTEM AND LEASE A MINIMUM OF 500 ELECTRONIC GAMING MACHINES IN ARGENTINA
ANTICIPATED COMBINED REVENUES TO GTECH OF APPROXIMATELY
$27 MILLION, BEGINNING IN LATE 2010
FIRST DEPLOYMENT OF INTELLIGEN™ IN SOUTH AMERICA
ROME, ITALY and PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, U.S. – April 19, 2010 – Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced that its subsidiary GTECH Foreign Holdings Corporation (GTECH) has signed an 11-year contract with Concesionaria de Entretenimientos y Turismo S.A. (CET) to supply, operate, and support the central system that will monitor as many as 5,400 electronic gaming machines (EGMs) in up to 29 venues throughout the province of Cordoba in Argentina. CET is licensed by Loteria de la Provincia de Cordoba Sociedad del Estado to operate slot machines in Cordoba.
In a separate five-year contract, CET will lease up to 1,000 EGMs, manufactured by Lottomatica Group’s Gaming Solutions subsidiaries ATRONIC and SPIELO, 500 of which will be installed over the next 12 months. An additional 500 machines may be provided over the remaining four years, at the discretion of CET.
Together, these contracts are expected to generate combined revenues to GTECH of approximately $27 million beginning in the fourth quarter of 2010. Lottomatica’s Gaming Solutions division, with support from GTECH, will work together with CET to expand its current operation of 3,000 machines and 19 venues.
“As the machine gaming program expands in the Cordoba region, Lottomatica Group’s end-to-end technology solution will provide CET with a reliable, secure, high-performance central system and EGMs,” said GTECH’s Vice President of Gaming Solutions Victor Duarte. “The INTELLIGEN central system’s ability to centrally and remotely monitor thousands of gaming machines in multiple venues will allow CET to expand its program efficiently and seamlessly, while our player-tested cabinets and compelling games will offer its customers exceptional entertainment.”
“Today’s announcement is also significant in that it represents Lottomatica Group’s entry into the gaming systems market in South America,” concluded Mr. Duarte.
Under the terms of the system contract, which includes two two-year extension options, GTECH will install its latest central system, INTELLIGEN™, along with INTELLIGEN’s Advanced Business Intelligence (ABI) Value-Added Module. GTECH will also provide ongoing services to CET including operation, site management, and maintenance of the system which is expected to be operational by early 2011.
