PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (U.S.) – April 07, 2010 – GTECH Corporation announced that its GTECH Ireland office has been certified by the World Lottery Association having met the applicable criteria of the World Lottery Association Security Control Standards:2006 (WLA SCS:2006). GTECH Ireland was awarded the WLA Security Control Standards:2006 certification following a formal assessment and audit executed by the British Standards Institution (BSI), one of the official bodies appointed by the World Lottery Association. The assessment encompassed an extensive and stringent review of the documentation in place to fulfill the requirements of the WLA Standard and adherence to the security controls.

The WLA Security Control Standards:2006 is a comprehensive set of controls and standards designed specifically for lottery operators and vendors worldwide. The 2006 version is the latest version of the Standards and was updated from the 2003 version to include compliance with ISO 27001 Standard. The ISO/IEC 27001 is an internationally accepted, auditable standard for information security management that defines the requirements for an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and guarantees that adequate and proportionate security measures are selected and implemented.
