GTECH CHOSEN BY THE ARIZONA LOTTERY TO SUPPLY INSTANT-TICKET MANAGEMENT AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM/SERVICES, FOLLOWING COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT

PROVIDENCE, RI – April 7, 2009 - GTECH Corporation announced that it has been chosen by the Arizona Lottery to provide a new instant-ticket product management and distribution system, as well as related services. The five-year contract, which follows a competitive procurement, will commence on January 10, 2010, and contains five one-year extension options, exercisable at the Lottery’s discretion. GTECH expects to receive revenues of approximately $10 million over the contract term. GTECH has provided online lottery products and services to the Arizona Lottery since 1984.

Patel. “With this new contract, the Arizona Lottery will benefit from the efficiencies of a fully-integrated online/instants lottery system, which will provide them with the latest technology to assist them in achieving their future sales growth objectives.”

Under the contract terms, GTECH will replace the existing instant-ticket product management and distribution system, currently provided by another vendor, with GTECH’s Enterprise Series instant processing system (ES IPS). ES IPS is GTECH’s latest generation of instant-ticket management software, which includes state-of-the-art telemarketing software. The instant-ticket product management and distribution system will be fully integrated with the current GTECH ES online lottery system by January 10, 2010. The Company will also provide telemarketing and warehousing and distribution services for the Lottery’s instant-ticket program.

The Lottery also has the opportunity to acquire a number of self-service lottery products, and additional services and items from GTECH over the duration of the contract.
