GTECH CORPORATION SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH SPORT PARI TO CREATE FIRST ONLINE LOTTERY IN BELARUS, FOLLOWING COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT

PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US) – September 03, 2008 - GTECH Global Services Corporation announced it has signed an agreement with closed joint stock company Sport Pari to create the first online lottery system in Belarus. Sport Pari has received a government license to become the exclusive license holder and operator of online lottery games in the country. The five-year agreement will run through July 2013, and follows a competitive procurement. GTECH expects to receive revenues of €11 million over the five-year term, commencing in October 2008.

“We are pleased to have this opportunity to supply a comprehensive range of lottery solutions and services to our newest customer Sport Pari. This agreement in Belarus is strategically important for GTECH as we look to expand our presence in this rapidly-developing region, and support governments and their licensed operators in regulating the gaming market,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “Sport Pari continues to work diligently with GTECH on all facets of launching a successful online lottery enterprise. Along with a complete range of marketing consulting services, GTECH is also providing Sport Pari with best practices in game introduction and optimization, and retailer network management.”

Under the terms of the agreement, GTECH will provide Sport Pari with the Company’s Enterprise Series™ (ES) solution and approximately 1,000 terminals for the launch of the first online lotto game anticipated in October 2008. The number of terminals is expected to grow to up to 5,000, as additional online games are implemented over the five-year period. GTECH will deliver player messaging and transaction displays through its ES MultiMedia program network, and provide marketing consultancy.
