LOTTOMATICA SUBSIDIARY GTECH CORPORATION NOTIFIED BY THE OHIO STATE LOTTERY OF ITS INTENT TO NEGOTIATE NEW ONLINE/INSTANTS SYSTEM LOTTERY CONTRACT WITH ANOTHER VENDOR

ROME (ITALY) - PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US), May 13, 2008 - Lottomatica S.p.A.'s wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH Corporation, was notified by the Ohio State Lottery that it has selected another vendor to provide equipment and services for a new online/instants lottery system, terminals, and IP-communications network, under a new two-year integrated services contract.

GTECH has provided lottery products and services to the Ohio Lottery since 1984. The Company's current contract with the Lottery is set to expire June 30, 2009.

The proposed two-year contract was expected to generate annual revenues to GTECH of approximately $25 million beginning in July 2009, with an approximate $49 million planned investment over the two-year term. Lottomatica Group confirms its financial guidance provided on April 7, 2008, in the Group's 2008 – 2010 Strategic Plan presentation.
