LOTTERIES COMMISSION OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA EXTENDS GTECH’S ONLINE CONTRACT FOR AN ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR PERIOD

PROVIDENCE, RI - (October 02, 2007) - GTECH Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica S.p.A., announced that Lotteries Commission of Western Australia (Lotterywest) has extended its online lottery contract with GTECH for an additional one-year period extending to March 2009.

Lotterywest had previously selected another vendor to provide equipment and services for a new online lottery system in August 2006, following a competitive procurement. GTECH's contract extension was requested by Lotterywest in order to provide Lotterywest and the new vendor additional time to convert the system. Lotterywest originally anticipated completing this project by March 2008.

GTECH has provided lottery products and services to Lotterywest since 1986. GTECH will continue to provide central system software licensing, support, and maintenance to Lotterywest over the one-year extension period.
