NEW MEXICO LOTTERY ANNOUNCES INTENT TO NEGOTIATE NEW ONLINE LOTTERY CONTRACT WITH ANOTHER VENDOR

ROME (ITALY) - PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US), July 26, 2007 - Lottomatica S.p.A.'s wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH Corporation, was notified by the New Mexico Lottery that it has selected another vendor to provide equipment and services for a new online lottery system, terminals, and IP-communications network, under a new seven-year contract.

GTECH has provided lottery products and services to the New Mexico Lottery since 1996. The Company's current contract with the Lottery is set to expire in November 2008. The New Mexico Lottery contributes approximately $5 million to $7 million to GTECH's annual service revenues.
