The Gaming Solutions segment includes activities associated with the design and supply of gaming machines (AWP and video lotteries) and gaming software. The Group designs and produces terminals and relevant software, it supplies systems for the management of AWP, video lotteries and gambling tables within casinos. The Gaming Solutions segment consists of SPIELO International, the product of a recent merger of the Atronic Group, leading supplier of amusement machines in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and SPIELO, one of the major suppliers of video lotteries in North America and Europe.
SPIELO International is now the world leader in the production and distribution of gaming machines, central systems and software for the legal gaming market. The Company offers a complete end-to-end range of gaming products for various market segments, including commercial casinos and amusement with prize machines (AWP) authorized by their respective governments. SPIELO International has over 1,500 customers in five continents, with approximately 200,000 gaming machines distributed worldwide and it holds over 300 gaming licenses, including a license to sell gaming machines and solutions in 25 American states, including Nevada. SPIELO International at this time has approximately 1,200 employees in 17 countries, production operations are in Moncton, Canada, and it has local offices located throughout the world. In 2011 the international business of the operating unit comprising SPIELO International recorded revenues of approximately EUR 198.3 million.
The GTECH G2 operating unit handles activities for the creation of interactive platforms for the offer of remote gaming, accessible via internet, mobile telephony and digital television.
This segment includes Finsoft Limited, one of the major suppliers of sports betting technology in Europe, Boss media AB with its subsidiaries, a supplier of gaming software and services for poker, casino and bingo. Its activities are subdivided into designing and supplying sports betting transactions and information technologies, development of software and systems to offer casino, bingo, poker and quick games through interactive digital channels and web sites.
The GTECH G2 segment was formed in 2009 after the acquisition of 4 major online gaming companies. GTECH G2 is the major provider of integrated solutions for online betting in the worldwide lottery market and in the regulated gaming market.
GTECH G2 remains at the forefront of the online gaming industry through continued investments and product innovations.
Its segment includes over 150 customers, in the media or gaming areas, operating on concession in various European jurisdictions. Within GTECH G2, customers are grouped by type; the bingo, poker, casino, sports betting and gaming customer types fall under the commercial category, NRM (Nationally Regulated Market), WLA (World Lottery Association) and activities on concession.
GTECH G2 manages 6 poker networks worldwide, including the first legal and regulated poker network in North America (The Canadian Poker Network). GTECH G2 manages USD 8 billion per year through sports betting.
In 2010 GTECH G2 launched 2 games to offer customers a complete online gaming solution. Within the Group, this segment posted revenues of EUR 81.2 million during fiscal year 2011.
